april

At E.O. Green Junior High School, we are proud to join schools across the nation in recognizing April as the Month of the Military Child—a time to honor the resilience, strength, and sacrifices of children in military families. These students, often referred to as "hidden heroes," show incredible adaptability and courage as they face unique challenges, including frequent relocations and family separations due to deployments.

Military-connected students are a vital part of our school community. Their diverse experiences and strong sense of responsibility contribute meaningfully to the culture of E.O. Green. We recognize that behind every service member is a supportive family, and behind every military child is a story of strength.

As a Purple Star School, E.O. Green is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for our military families. From our WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) program to our Military and Family Life Counselor and Wellness Center, we offer resources to ensure smooth transitions, emotional support, and community connection.

To celebrate our military-connected students, we invite everyone to participate in Purple Up! Day on April 24 by wearing purple—a color that represents all branches of the military and stands as a symbol of our collective support for these students.

We encourage our school community to take this month to reflect on the resilience of military children and to thank them for the sacrifices they make alongside their families. At E.O. Green, we are proud to stand with them—not just in April, but every day.
