Dear E.O. Green 8th Grade Families,
We are proud to share that the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will occur on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. on our campus blacktop. This event is reserved for students who have met the promotion criteria and is a meaningful celebration of their hard work, growth, and accomplishments during their time at E.O. Green.
Students participating in the ceremony must arrive on campus by 7:45 a.m. and report to their assigned rooms no later than 8:00 a.m. Guest entry will begin at 8:15 a.m. through the C Street gate. All guests, including children and infants, must have a ticket to enter. Each promoting student will receive four tickets, distributed on Friday, June 13. Please note that the ceremony will also be livestreamed on our school website for family and friends who cannot attend in person.
We want our students to feel proud and confident as they cross the stage. Attire should be appropriate for the occasion—dresses, collared shirts, and dress pants are encouraged. Please keep in mind that heels are not allowed for safety reasons, especially as students will be walking on stairs. Leis are welcome and add to the celebration.
Promotion gowns and tassels will be available for purchase from June 9 through June 10th from 4 pm to 6 pm and June 11th from 1pm to 4pm. The cost is $30 (cash only, exact change is preferred). Students may also purchase an additional tassel for $8 if they wish. The district will be providing all promoting 8th graders with a commemorative stole at no cost.
All promoting students must attend both rehearsals on Thursday, June 12, at 12:45 p.m. and Friday, June 13, at 8:25 a.m. Students should not bring backpacks on these days. They are encouraged to wear sunblock and a hat (no sports team logos) and to bring the shoes they plan to wear at the ceremony to practice walking in them.
As a reminder, all school-issued items, such as Chromebooks, chargers, library books, and textbooks, must be returned by Wednesday, June 11. Any outstanding items must be cleared to ensure participation in the promotion ceremony.
We look forward to celebrating this proud moment with our promoting students and their families.
Thank you for your continued support in making this a memorable and respectful occasion for all.
