Dear E.O. Green 8th Grade Families,
We are proud to share that the 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will occur on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. on our campus blacktop. This event is reserved for students who have met the promotion criteria and is a meaningful celebration of their hard work, growth, and accomplishments during their time at E.O. Green.
Students participating in the ceremony must arrive on campus by 7:45 a.m. and report to their assigned rooms no later than 8:00 a.m. Guest entry will begin at 8:15 a.m. through the C Street gate. All guests, including children and infants, must have a ticket to enter. Each promoting student will receive four tickets, distributed on Monday, June 15. Please note that the ceremony will also be livestreamed on our school website for family and friends who cannot attend in person.
We want our students to feel proud and confident as they cross the stage. Attire should be appropriate for the occasion—dresses, collared shirts, and dress pants are encouraged. Please keep in mind that heels are not allowed for safety reasons, especially as students will be walking on stairs. Leis are welcome and add to the celebration.
Promotion gowns and tassels will be available for purchase June 8–10 from 4:00–6:00 p.m. for $30, cash only; exact change is preferred. Additional tassels are $8.
On June 8 only, a limited number of gently used gowns will also be available for $10. Sizes are limited and not guaranteed.
All 8th-grade students will receive a district-provided commemorative stole at no cost.
All promoting students must attend both rehearsals on Friday, June 12. and Monday, June 15. Students should not bring backpacks these days. They are encouraged to wear sunblock and a hat (no sports team logos) and to bring the shoes they plan to wear at the ceremony to practice walking in them.
As a reminder, all school-issued items, such as Chromebooks, chargers, library books, and textbooks, must be returned by Wednesday, June 11. Any outstanding items must be cleared to ensure participation in the promotion ceremony.
We look forward to celebrating this proud moment with our promoting students and their families.
Thank you for your continued support in making this a memorable and respectful occasion for all.
