E. O. Green Junior High School

Inspiring and Empowering All Students to Thrive Everyday

CA Community School

E. O. Green Junior High School is a California Community School

E.O. Green Junior High School is proud to serve as a California Community School through our involvement in the California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP). This statewide effort is focused on reimagining public education by turning schools into centers of connection, support, and opportunity for students and families.

Being a CCSPP school means that we are committed to supporting the whole child. We understand that academic success is closely tied to health, emotional well-being, and strong relationships. That is why we are working to connect students with services that support their learning and their lives. This includes access to health and mental health services, family and community partnerships, and programs that reflect the strengths and needs of our school community.

Our approach is grounded in collaboration. By bringing educators, families, and community partners together, we are building a school culture where every student feels supported, seen, and prepared for the future. This work strengthens our shared responsibility and deepens our impact both inside and outside the classroom.

We welcome you to take a closer look at our goals and next steps by reviewing our Community School Implementation Plan.

As we prepare for the new year, we also want to highlight what makes E.O. Green unique. We are proud to be a California Community School, which means we are committed to supporting the whole child and family. Our campus offers wellness and mental health support, academic enrichment, after-school programs, and family resources designed to help every student thrive in and out of the classroom. By working closely with our Community Schools Coordinator, we connect families to programs and services that strengthen both learning and community.

Here is a letter of introduction from our  Community Schools Coordinator:

Hello E.O. Green Hornets and Community,

My name is Adeline Mendez, and I’m honored to return to E.O. Green Middle School—both as a dedicated alum and, now, your new Community School Coordinator. With 21 years of experience in education as a teacher and school administrator, I am deeply committed to advancing student success and fostering meaningful community partnerships.

Having grown up in this community, I truly understand the heart and values that make E.O. Green special. I’m excited to team up with students, families, staff, and local organizations to help:

  • Expand enriching after-school and enrichment programs
  • Strengthen family engagement and volunteer opportunities
  • Build community collaborations for academic and social supports
  • Emphasize health, safety, belonging, and student well‑being

My goal is to build bridges between our vibrant school and the broader community—to make E.O. Green a place where every student feels known, supported, and inspired.

I look forward to meeting everyone, hearing your ideas, and working together to continue the proud Hornet traditions and making a meaningful impact.

Warmly,
Adeline Mendez
